Yamaha R6 bodywork spans five generation groups. Start with the motorcycle year, as a favorite MotoGP livery may appear on panels with different shapes. The groups are 1998-2002, 2003-2005, 2006-2007, 2008-2016 and 2017-2024, and each one uses its own front cowl, side panels and tail. Every kit in this category is a complete replacement bodywork set in virgin ABS with pre-drilled mounting points, finished with free custom paint in the colors, logos, numbers and design notes you send. Choose the generation that matches your R6 first, then pick a paint scheme or send reference photos.

Choose the R6 generation

After entering the matching year-range category, that category defines fitment. A year in an individual product title identifies the paint scheme or livery reference; it does not narrow the category fitment. Then choose colors or custom graphics.

1998-2024 Yamaha R6 Fitment by Generation

Panel shape decides fitment, not the livery name. Check your bike against these boundaries.

  • 1998-2002: first-generation R6 bodywork, superseded by the 2003-2005 shape.
  • 2003-2005: revised front cowl, side panels and tail; panels do not swap with 1998-2002 kits.
  • 2006-2007: new fairing profile with different side panels and a narrower nose.
  • 2008-2016: longest-running shape and the widest paint choice in this category.
  • 2017-2024: final generation with the R1-derived nose and updated side panels.

If your bike sits on a model-year boundary, confirm the panel shape on the bike before ordering. A year in a product title identifies the paint scheme or design reference only.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do all Yamaha R6 years share the same fairing?

No. 1998-2002, 2003-2005, 2006-2007, 2008-2016 and 2017-2024 each use different panel shapes, so the year group decides the kit.

Will a 2008-2016 kit fit a 2006 R6?

No. The 2006-2007 front cowl, side panels and tail mount differently from the 2008-2016 shape.

Is the custom paint really free?

Yes. Standard painted kits include free custom paint. Send colors, logos, race numbers or reference photos and the paint team matches them.

Are these OEM Yamaha parts?

No. These are aftermarket replacement panels for the R6, pre-drilled for the bike’s original mounting locations.

What does a complete kit include?

Front cowl, side fairings, tail and fender for the generation you select, plus a clear or black windscreen and a heat shield. Other windscreen colors, bolt kits, tank covers and seat cowls are optional where available.

How long do production and shipping take?

Production usually takes about 15 working days. Shipping is selected at checkout, with free standard shipping to most countries.

Track-only fiberglass race bodywork

For a closed-course build, use separate fiberglass race bodywork instead of the painted ABS street fairings on this page. Current Yamaha YZF-R6 race bodywork listings:

Select only the product that names your exact model and year. A race-replica paint scheme on a street kit does not make it race bodywork.
